I M A G I N E

Imagine the world like by chance, like somebody had given fate a different twist and you were gone.

Make yourself invisible, intangible, but in the eyes of those who once loved you.

A flicker, a whisper, a desperate calling. Who mourns in your fantasy? Who is left unaffected?

Gems and stones. Carbon for life and coal and diamonds. Vipers dead and dying. Smoke.

Illegible in the silence, not a poem, a story, a word. You whisper in the drifting fog. Mist.

Nobody sees. You are not there, almost. Your only sense is sight. The cold is not present anymore.

End of it all. There is nothing of you left. You slip back into the frost-bitten earth. Not a sound.
