I Sever My Curse

I sever my curse
By ending my Continuity -
A worthwhile sacrifice of a chance
For biological perpetuity

I may be doomed
To the life of an enigma
But after me-no one else
Shall bear the grievous stigma

To be optimistic would be foolish
To have hope - naive
Truly I know - it is futile
To attempt to self-deceive

So when I - hopefully as a centenarian
Have my final curtain call
The enigma curse will cease
Once and for all

Me
