I stay inside

Location

Days inside drain me
That's put in simplest terms
As the sky changes colors and the world bustles with an unimaginable energy
I stay inside
For those who never had this problem
Let me help you understand

To sit here while life continues there
Drains my sense of being
That I do not exist, nor will I ever exist outside of these floors and walls
I stay inside
You could hang a sign on me saying
Vacant, no life

If they say sleep is for the dead
Then I am already in my grave
Unable to leave my mark on another soul or show the love that is welling inside
I stay inside
I lock the doors, throw away the key
And shut the blinds.
