I wanna be

Fri, 04/08/2016 - 15:17 -- Aezion

I don't wanna be

Some ol' nobody.

I don't wanna be

Without a home,

Without a name,

Doin' nothin' but witherin'

Away, away,

With old age.

I wanna be

Somebody,

Anybody,

Something,

Anything.

I wanna be

A rockstar

Or a poet

Or a writer

Or an actor

Or an astronaut

Or President

Or even a teacher.

I don't wanna be

Someone forgotten,

Left out in the cold

As I grow old,

With no one to remember my name.

I don't wanna be

Some average Joe,

I wanna put on a show.

I wanna be

Someone that leaves

With an impression,

Pressed into the minds of others.

I wanna be

Someone who makes,

Says,

Does,

Things with meaning for others.

I wanna be

Someone that leaves a mark

On others' lives.

A teacher marks

Mind and paper alike.

A rockstar fills

The soul and the radio.

A writer conveys

Words and knowledge.

A poet transfers

Thoughts and emotions.

And so on and so on.

And so I wanna be

Someone who matters

To someone who isn't me.
