I was a refugee

You see…

I’m just a lonesome soul on a dark path

I’ve had my toll I’ve felt the wrath

Barely ever seen light on hells path

From the days of old but I’ve come far past that … past that…

Just an average soul you can say that

Born in the sands of time from way back

Born in the sands of mayhem

Caged up in the tens of thousands

Refugees, but nobody wants them

Families, but no houses

Babies, the ocean shores adopted

Born to these wars, I didn’t want that

I say… I didn’t even know that

Born to die yet time lapsed

Wish it could’ve been I

Life by-passed

A lot easier than this track

When does the mind truly rest, only death tells that?

Death tells the mind “Rest in peace… You rest now…”

I haven’t seen peace in a long time

Haven’t slept with ease in a long time

Haven’t had time, yet I had a whole life time…

This poem is about:
Me
My family
My country
Our world
