I Write To Live

Why do I write?

I write to express the feelings within

I write to finally release the pain

to let the river flow

I write as a distraction

I write so that the blood in my body will never grow cold

as it touched the sweet night air

I write so that my mind will stay clear

I write so the maddness will go away

the fears

the yellings

the screaming

the insanity of it all

I write so I don't have to cry

so I can stay strong

I write so I can manage to form a smile each day

to laugh at the jokes they say

and to fight the memories away

I write so that I can live each day

The fact that writing can mean so many things and still be something we choose to do. I think you embodied this perfectly in this piece.
