if anxiety were a poem

Skin,

vibrating with fear

of the unknown.

Lungs,

heaving shaky

puffs of air.

Eyes,

shifting side to side

looking for an escape.

Fists,

clenched and quaking

white-knuckled.

Stomach,

tying itself in knots

rolling waves of nausea.

Mind,

racing to find a reason

a cause for this unfounded panic.

Of course,

You don't see

I am breaking

Anxiety

Overtaking
