IF I GO OR IF I STAY,

WOULD IT MATTER ANYWAY.

HERE I LIE IN MY CASKET BED STARING UPON THE PEOPLE I LOVE,

WHEN I REALIZE THAT THESE PEOPLE ARE NOW LOST.

SUDDENLY THE TOP IS CLOSED I AM TO BE CARRIED OFF,

I AM CRYING & PLEADING NO PLEASE STOP!

IN AN INSTANT I AM SET DOWN,

AND THE TOP IS OPENED TO A FAMILIAR FROWN.

I SEE MY SON ALMOST SIXTEEN IN AGE,

A TEAR TRICKLE DOWN HIS FACE.

HE TOUCHES MY FACE CARRESSES MY CHEEK,

DOES HE KNOW THAT I CAN STILL SEE?

I GAZE UPON HIS EYES OF BLUE,

THE VERY ONES THAT I'D ONCE KNEW.

IN EVERY WORD AND EVERY TEAR,

I GAZE UPON MY SON IN FEAR.

AND NOW I KNOW,

THAT IF I GO,

OR IF I STAY,

IT WOULD MATTER IN ONE WAY.
