If those wings could fly

Fresh lungs take their first breath of air

The mother’s joyous cries fills the room with flair

Years are constantly passing by quicker than a fox

The blonde blue eyed girl feels trapped in a box

Balance is key in the world in which we flee

Filled with such animosity

The views in which society claims are true

Can they reach you while feeling blue?

She has yet to fall into the pits of despair

She’s wearing her heart on her sleeve, feeling bare

What is the dream she wishes to catch

The hospital scrubs she recently fetched

Inside the walls so many find disheartening

Her passion is electrified by the strike of lightening

Studious hours and countless years

The lack of green in her pocket causes many tears

Wonderful words of encouragement meet her ears

At times it’s not enough, it’s rough and tough

The anxiety that rears its ugly head

Let’s all the negative talk consciously share

Fresh lungs take their first breath of air

The mother’s joyous cries fills the room with flair

The blonde blue eyed girl who once needed help to succeed

Is able to watch her dream live and breathe

Oh Miss Nurse, what have you received?

Just the luck she needed to fly free

Not in the department of Geriatrics

With those precious newborn babies down in pediatrics
