Ignition

Mon, 10/20/2014 - 00:13 -- mdlopez

The place that many people call hell,

I call home.

The place where kids attend as if in shackles,

I walk voluntarily.

The place that teenagers give adults

Attitudes and rolling eyes.

And yet, these adults manage to stay ecstatic and encouraged

To teach.

I see the teachers’ faces of utter satisfaction

When the students understand.

The face that says “I have made a difference in this world.”

A face that explains how much teaching warms their heart.

A face that ignites my desire to teach.
