I'm tired of the fight

As I lay my head down on my pillow each night,
I always think of how I am tired of the fight.
This battle of addiction has gotten me tore up,
I always feel like I need drugs or drink in my cup.
When I say I'm done, I end up going to get more,
I find excuses for the dope, but what for?
There is no excuse other than an addict who can't stop,
I won't admit it until my last drop.
Life is not easy like some make it look,
Reading about love and happiness in a book.
Sometimes people have guidance each day,
But the ones that struggle alone usually won't say.
They are probably the strongest people you will meet,
So if they want to tell their story then take a seat.
You might learn a thing or two and I'm sure it's all true,
Just sit and listen to them closely, that's all you gotta do.
Things in life aren't handed to you, it has to be earned,
If you find yourself in a cycle, it's time for your chapter to be turned.
When given advice, take it to heart,
Sometimes if we don't, our world will fall apart.
If you make progress then be proud.
Look in the mirror and say, "I am strong", very loud.
This is my encouragement today,
I'm tired of the fight and I just want to be okay.
