Mermaids of T.S.

If Eliot heard the mermaids sing

then so will I.

Without imagination the mermaids are nothing.

The pain would be numbing,

my heart would ache

without imagination, sound of humming

is nothing.

The greatness of running

on a mind which is cunning,

is knowing the bumblebees bumble

up and down

one a humble note.

No, I cannot picture life without it,

Birds wouldn't chirp

pretty girls wouldn't smirk

and

life wouldn't work.

Imagination is important to me and to all

it leaves pretty girls in awe

and

keeps hummingbirds in joy.

If Eliot heard the mermaids sing

then so will I.

I really liked this!

It coicides with the object I chose for my All I Need Poem, and I agree, without imagination life would be nothing.

Art makes life beautiful, without imagination there would be no art, and there's no beauty in that. :]

This poem breathes anxiously in a time where the imagination is something that is not nurtured nor deemed as important.

We're so focused on the tangible rather than the visceral that we deplete our imagination and we become creative-less beings.

Your wording is beautiful. I love the lines of hearing the mermaids sing. It's vibrant!
