Inherently

Dirt a substance that goes deep under

Incorporating more substances

To my Jamaican roots unto my English and Bahamian descent

By my smile you wouldn’t understand the story behind my eyes

My greatest curve being my biggest disguise

There were a lot of tears late at night and silent cries resting on my pillow

Now they are soft and contain secrets like the meadow

That is inherently me

See as a pre-teen I faced my own bones

They piled up as the world gave me a song

Trying to create me like my name is Pinocchio

I stood up and said no and redefined what they meant for me to be

See I’m Flawless because I didn’t let the worst of me turn into something destructive

Turned my scars into a check mark because I approved

Not letting the world say nothing

I’m flawless because my flaws became something

That is inherently me
