Inner Peace

In the world of lies, cruelty, & betrayal,
it's difficult for some to open their hearts to others.
But at the same time, it's hard to let go,
when you know, you really have no other.
And we lie when we say, "I'm gonna build up a wall,
because to me, this world has been unjust."
Truth is, deep down,
we're all searching for someone we can trust.
For someone to help ease the pain,
For someone that looks at not our flaws, but
what we have, and the qualities we've gained.
Remember the ones that treated you good,
and forget the ones that didn't because
behind every dark cloud is the hope of change.
And to remember the ones that treated you good,
and to forget the ones that didn't is
what brings inner peace.
This is what we need.
Let alone, our soul be free.
