Away

On my knees prayin' to God I come home someday

The yells of a black man yellin' and screamin', cursin' at the white man for not bein' free

I'm pissed off at the things I see

The things I hear revolve around what I feel

And what I feel allows me to see what's real

What is real? Cop cars chasin' a brotha through the city

The pop of a gun and the thud of a child's body doesn't make make the shooter feel pity

Mama's cryin' 'cause they gotta see their babies behind bars

My cellmate reminiscin' about the times before he got in that car

Before shots were fired & screams filled the night air

Before police kicked down his front door throwin' evryone down because they didn't care

The thoughts come back when that judge announced that sentenced

Imagine life in a single cell trynna mind ya business

Depression sits strong here

Instutionalized stuck in his own fear
