It’s been a while since I’ve thought so clearly

Let me be your constant student of discovery,

Who navigates the empty halls,

To empty rooms,

Still filled with air,

But empty of spirit.

I can fill them up again

With pictures

Paintings

Woven blankets

Books

Chairs for two

Animals that go

“Woof” and “Mew”

Let me open up the windows,

Let the sunlight flow

Like glittered gold upon the ground

Make it warm

And when it’s night

We keep them open

To admire starry lights

We could trace their flow,

The pattern of Orion’s Belt and bow

still I know less of you

The more you grow

So I ask of you

Please let me be your student

And we shall move together

Though different in stride

Take my hand and we might

Glide

Let me discover those dark corridors

I never saw before

I squint my eyes

But nothing reaches sight

It is

Where light does not reach

Or ever kiss

If it did

I’d say it had never known such bliss.

I know it sounds pretty

Frilly

Or faint

Like a schoolgirls fantasy

But that is not

What I am trying to say

Hear me as i am

As i create

Let me be your student of discovery

And I might be your teacher

If I’m not too late.
