It Cannot be Named—Only Felt

The beauty of life can take you by surprise

If you look at it with caring eyes.

A smile, a voice that gives you chills, warming your soul,

As goosebumps rise to soak in as much of it as they can.

Something as simple as

A lightning bug or a butterfly bringing tears to your eyes.

Something as chaotic as

A beautiful language, a problem, or the heart of a person

Adding joy, sorrow, anger, even blatant passion, to your being.

A part of life shown to you with rejuvenated eyes, a fresh mind.

A secret in plain sight that you never knew to be disguised.

Something you're sure is not the best you've known it to be,

All the same, you feel your heart grow.

It comes from unexpected sources: a kind word, a helping hand.

Experience it.

Cherish it.

Called by many names though none seem quite right.

You cannot fight; you cannot think.

You just feel it and hold on tight.
