It Fades

Mon, 05/08/2017 - 15:59 -- Penola

Hands cover our

Ears and We

refuse

To believe-

To see-

To be-

What we once

Were-

It fades.

And we continue

on - as if

it is not

even

There-

Screaming-

Thrashing-

Dying-

"I'm fading"

Yet still

We blind-

bind-

deafen-

ourselves-

cloak our

Senses

in Ignorance.

Wear it

Like

a shield

So we

Can not

      Do not

            Will not

See

It fade.

So we can

tell our-

Children-

When they

come to Us-

with tears

Anger

Accusation

We can

Say

We did not

know-

see-

hear-

feel-

It fade.

We need

Someone-

anyone-

one person-

to See

It fade -

And take

Responsibility.

Or else

It will

Be

like It

Never

was

It will

fade-

and die

with Us.
