It isn't easy.

Wed, 03/12/2014 - 13:59 -- Misfit

Being depressed isn’t easy.

You never want to talk to anyone.

You never want to go anywhere.

Everyone thinks you’re just antisocial.

They say you’re just overreacting.

They tell you nothing is ever that bad.

But it is that bad.

You feel empty inside.

You know something is missing but you’ve given up on finding it.

Having anxiety isn’t easy.

You’re always worried.

Always paranoid.

Every whisper is about you.

You know people are staring.

You can’t stop shaking.

Your heart beats too fast.

You try your best.

But everything goes wrong.

Have anxiety and depression isn’t easy.

You don’t want to get out of bed.

But you don’t want to miss school.

You don’t want to leave the house.

But you don’t want to lose the few people who still care about you.

You have so much to do.

But no motivation for any of it.

It’s difficult to even think straight.

And you start to scare even yourself

A lot of times people assume that if someone suffers from something like depression or anxiety, they don't suffer from anything else. But your poem proves that the truth is, people struggle with all sorts of things and sometimes they are even seen as conflicting, like depression and anxiety. Great job for speaking your voice, especially about a topic like depression that can be difficult to talk about. It might not be easy, but that doesn't mean it's impossible.
