IT WAS NOT MY FAULT

Location

Kenya

Mama, why did this
Mama, i was to be your hope
Your happiness and life
It was not my fault

Mama, was i even there?
When grandma talked to you
Warned you of the bastard?
My unseen papa

Mama, i wasn't there
The moon was there though
Watching with shame,
The crickets chirped with sorrow
As you devoured the forbiden

You were not ashamed,
When thorns pricked your bare back
And your screams rented the air
In the name of love

Now i suffer the fate of your mistake
In this cold dark dungeon
Cursing and crying
Tearless, voiceless cries

Mama, i was to be your first
And maybe the last
But you broke the bridge
And snatched my temporal home

I won't see the sun
I won't be bathed with moon's love
You killed an innocent
It was not my fault
