Jane

She came early today

She said she took the long way

And had something to say

She told me some lies

She told me some truth

She told me she tries

Sometimes what’s the use

She said she was going

I didn’t ask where

She said she was headed

To a place, can’t see or hear

I asked the reason

And she said there’s none

She says she is lost

In where she comes from

I asked when she gets there

Can she ask for me

I asked when she gets there

If we could stay for free

She came late the next day

She said she was afraid

She said she wished it away

She said what she saw

She could not forget

She said what she heard

She couldn’t tell me yet

I asked the reason

And she said there’s none

She says she is lost

Because where she comes from

I asked when she gets there

Can she ask for me

I asked when she gets there

If we could stay for free
