Run

Run to that destination with no hesitation of frustration

That is holding you back

Telling you to relax

And become another black statistic

Driving congress men and city hall crazy

Because they feel like maybe

They need one more jail cell just to hold us all

Run

And as you begin to achieve what the world perceives to perfect

That is only deception, because there is no such thing as perfection

Only the acceptations and glorifications of man in the eyes of the blind leading the blind

Run

And I promise I swear even as you’re on your way there

I will always remember a time when I looked at your face

And there I knew I was in the face of what soon would be greatness

Run

But remember it’s always who, what, when, where, and why

Trying to figure out how I got such reading in between the lines

Of society’s one sided mind of the color of my skin

Run

Run to that destination with no hesitation of frustration

That is holding you back

Telling you to relax

And become another black statistic

Driving congress men and city hall crazy

Because they feel like maybe

They need one more jail cell just to hold US all
