Jess Again / Finding Out That You Are Loved

written August 2008

Now let us curl up

on opposing ends of this

amiable couch:

I sip my hot sweet milky tea,

and you curl your hands around

blue Gatorade, slushy

and cold. We smile and

avert our eyes

because we have found

we agree too well.

How marvelous, and no surprise

at all that this gleaming

confidence is a bauble we share.

Tomorrow I will tell

you again so you don’t forget.
