Just the Way I Am

Location

I am somone.

The way my hair looks,

and the body shape I have

doesn't impact

the brain I have been given,

or the heart that is driven,

for those who hurt

when others laugh

at the way they sing

or the answer that they give.

My body shape might not be ideal,

but my heart aches for those who are hurt

when told they are insignificant.

I am counted on for help

not just with hair,

but also for care.

When someone needs help,

they don't need a perfect body

or someone snobby,

but someone who cares

about their tears.

So you see,

my hair may be frizzy

and my eyebrows way to bushy,

for sure, I am too plump,

and my sports skills very lacking,

but my heart is as big as an ocean

for someone who shows true emotion,

and for this reason I know

that I am flawless

just the way I am.
