Kind Man

A whisper here a hush there

I feel the wind run through my hair

It tells me tales of our wondrous land

Of the lost good of the kind man

He helped the poor and strengthened the weak

People heard of his greatness, and some of it they did seek

They introduced him to evil and greed and lust

They outnumbered the kind man, the good and just

He welcomed them with open arms

Being the kind man he is, he never harms

They beat him and tortured him too

He stayed strong through and through

Many people fought for him, the man who is kind

But they began to become very much blind

They turned to evil and greed and lust

They left the kind man, the good the just

He began to weaken, he began to fall

Evil and greed and lust took over them all

They fought and they battled and they took what they could

They wouldn’t stop no matter if they should

Until one person, not big but small

Stopped the insanity, stopped it all

The people listened, they listened well

Evil and greed and lust slowly fell

The kind man did not fade away

I see him each and every day

He is in me and he is in you

Even in evil and greed and lust he seeps through

This is the story of the kind man, the good and just

How we overcame evil, greed, and lust
