For Koby

Mon, 04/27/2015 - 09:57 -- DiFrae

I solemnly swear as I raise my right hand,

To salute this nation's flag

With your name on my wristband

Civilians don't really understand

Nor comprehend

What it really means to really serve

Or to have lost a friend

Kay loves ya, man

Just because you're dead

Doesn't mean this is the end

Well, situation really depends

I promise to support and defend

This great nation

When me they send

I'll keep your legacy runnin' though thse veins

When I serve, I won't look to gain

I'll tell how great you are

You inspired me to be a protector

To save lives will be my endeavor

The ropes of courage will never sever

Reason why I'm writing this letter

I must be doing a good job

Because I even see my haters nod

As I take that oath

I'll salute you, too

Or so help me God.
