Labels

I'm not the brightest or the best
I don't always pass every test
Life throws my way
But I don't let what other people say
Bring me down
I lift my head up
Because I am proud
I am everything I want to be
You can't define me
I am not a label
I am not a hashtag
Or a number of "likes"
I'm not some flashback
That you just care about sometimes
I am not my height or weight
I am not a number, those are for dates
Quit calling me out on my mistakes
Some people take their lives because of a name
Don't act like this is just a game
It's a label verses life
A rude remark against a knife
Here's one thing everyone knows
But they hardly understand
Labels, are for clothes
Not for a woman or a man
This poem is about:
Me
