This land isn't your land

Once upon a time their was a happy young couple

Who lived a content life in their homeland

One day a war broke out making lots of trouble

Despite the hard times the couple got married

The war ended and a baby was due, just beginning to rustle

But all was not well in the couples homeland

The war had ended and left nothing behind but rubble

Even so they still held some pride for their home

They tried to rebuild their past lives but it was a struggle

Then one day uneasy rumours began to spread

This new leader will save our country some mumble

The couple tried to ignore these bad omens

But a new war of hate was about to start a new tussle

Attitudes turned sour, you're not welcome here

This home that you hold dear won't have you here even as your new born babe just begins to suckle

So with broken hearts the couple went

Away from certain death towards a new life they stumble

As much as they'd miss their war torn home

America seemed like the light at the end of the tunnel.
