Lately
Lately,
The truth has been pouring out of me.
I'm breaking through the barriers.
I know you're not listening,
But I pray you hear me.
One of these days,
I'll get through to you.
I'm walking under the streetlights,
I'll beg for your skin.
I've spent 36 months chasing the sun,
And I never forgot about you for a second,
I just tucked you under my bed.
I've built a house inside my head,
And you're the only one I've let in.
But you snuck out the window,
And you started a fire
That ends with the last words you said.
