leather-bound

This book reminds me of you

Soft cover, indestructible

Keeper of an old god

Tell me more about who tore your pages

Where you got the damage on your jacket

How long it took before your ink started to fade

Notebook, tell me your story

Let your grocery list of “I hate _____” fall out into my lap

Show me where your binding came apart

So I can glue you back together

Can’t find my glue, tape will have to do

But I will not rebind your leather

For then you would no longer be you

Love your damage, notebook

And to thine own self be true
