Leaving Mama's Nest

Tue, 01/17/2017 - 14:26 -- kwiz15

One year later I am no longer in the wings of her nest.

I have learned how to fly, and currently on my own doing my best.

Last year I was being fed worms underneath her beak,

But now having to hunt for what I have to eat.

A year ago from today I did not have to worry about time.

Today every second counts on my mind.

Twelve months ago I couldn't tell you where or who I was gonna be.

Fell in love with my government class and now understand what gods plans are for me.

I push myself harder than I should,

Because if I didn't I don't know who else would.

365 days later I know my place.

And I understand that education is my only way to become great.
