Let Me Be Lost

Location

Hidden away inside your lungs

Is a history I’d like to hear from

Locked away inside your chest

Is a heart that beats the best

I regret not knowing

That I’ll never be showing

You

I long to be going

Wherever you’re going

Breathing and blowing

Without you

Life’s not worth controlling

Age, and hence

We age then death

Life’s merely measured by

The days we’ve spent

The ways we shape these flowers

The ways we shriek and cower

Are all signs of life

But alone we do not spike

Instead we just decline

I regret not knowing

That I’ll never be showing

You

I long to be going

Wherever you’re going

Breathing and blowing

Without you

Life’s not worth controlling

Decline

If I could re-do some things

I’d tell some truths

I’d do a lot of good

But I still wouldn’t

Have the strength to be upfront with

You

I regret not knowing

That I’ll never be showing

You

I long to be going

Wherever you’re going

Breathing and blowing

Darling, without you

Life’s not worth controlling

Let me be the words

Lost under your breath
