Let my papa sleep

We would like to think our world is perfect. So why would you want to change a thing? Only the ones with open minds will detect the world isn't a slide nor is it a swing. The world appears soft, but don't be fooled. It's a cold place. So hard yet so cruel. If I was given the power to change one thing in this world, my heart would pound and my brain would slowly swirl. My stomach would curl and I woudn't think straight. With so many people living on this rock my decision would be up for debate. Shall it be discrimination or poverty? No no, it shall be the removal of crime and no more robbery. Maybe then my papa won't sleep with a gun at night. With a grasp so firm and even more tight. The way he holds onto that killing machine, a world like that doesn't seem right. Like it'll hold our family closer from anything that attacks up down or in between? Let my papa sleep at ease. If only I really could change that about the world. If all it took was a "please". I could express to you what I want to change, but this is reality and our world is sadly deranged.

Our world
