Lips of Smoke

Location

He let it touch his lips

When he breathed it in again.

I stood there watching.

Every puff and every time he let it in,

I watched.

He let it touch my lips

When he touched his lips with mine.

I stood there hurting.

Every touch and every time he moved closer,

I hurt.

He let it touch my heart

When he wouldn't let it go.

I stood there crying.

Every secret and every time he lied,

I cried.

I let it touch my lips

When I breathed it in again.

I stood there in the puffs, the touches, and the secrets.

I let it consume me.

I let it win.
