The Loneliest Angel

The Loneliest Angel

She never wants anything to steal her joy

Her smile is always worn and her laugh always ringing

She never wants these things to be destroyed

Because then she will lose the care she’s bringing

She has always learned to help more than just one

Her arms are spread wide to anyone that needs her

It is too late to go back from where she has begun

And now she’s drowning with the sorrow inside her

No one ever asks how this girl has been

They all just assume her smile is never-fading

They never wonder what she keeps within

And they walk past her as her life is shading

This breaks her heart; being set aside by friends

Though she never hesitates to help any day

They know she will be there until the end

But for once, help could come her way

She laughs so loud it can be heard for miles

But her cry from inside cannot be heard at all

Her laugh is so lively it can blossom many smiles

But her self-pride no longer stands tall

Her smile is so grand it brightens the sky

But it never cracks at all in the night

Instead her tears can take years to dry

And the pain never gets to see the light

She lives this way, day in and day out

With pain flowing around in her heart

She pushes it to the side with much doubt

Because she knows it is breaking her apart

But still—she never lets anything steal her joy

Her smile is always worn and her laugh always ringing

She never wants these things to be destroyed

Because then she will lose the care she’s bringing
