Look

Look into my eyes,

Tell me what you see.

You won't see bony legs, or broad shoulders,

You'll see me.

You'll see how much I care.

And what I'd do for those I love.

You'll see how hard I try,

And how I keep going when things get rough.

You'll see the dreams I'm striving for,

And you'll see how many times I've been told to close the door.

You'll see people shutting me down,

Telling me to "Be realistic."

You'll see me respond with all my strength, and tell them that it's worth it.

Because even though my dreams seem too big or too hard.

I can't wait until you look into my eyes,

And see not how much I still have to do...

But how far

I will go.
