Look for the Light

The world turns,

our minds are filled with growing concerns.

Teens are filled with angst,

and from adults, it’s hard to even get a thanks.

Some see the world going from bright to dull;

they see everything through depressed eyes as a result.

Instead of seeing the cup half full,

they see everything as empty and pitiful.

They fail to see the joy coming from the laugh of a baby

but if they paid attention to the light in their lives maybe

they’d see the beautiful colors of the sunset,

they’d see the majesty of nature and they wouldn’t forget.

How amazing it is to experience friendship and love,

how incredible it is to travel and have just enough,

how awesome it is to grow and find yourself,

how mind-blowing it is to fall in love in and of itself.

If only people would choose to look for the light,

they’d see everything as more than just alright.

If only people would choose to look for the light,

they’d see how everything is really so amazingly bright!
