Loss

Location

The wind whispers, trees sway
Darkened silhoettes against a
Moonlit sky brimming with
Shadows and broken screams.

She lays in a field of dust and bones
Cigarette ashes falling from her lips,
Intermingling with blood and tears
That hold her many secrets.

A wolf howls in the distance,
Like an estranged cry from a
Man who had lost his lover in
The seeds of time and hate.

She cries back, sick, twisted
Her own loss breaking a hole
In her ribcage and staining the
Ground with darker shades of red.

She feels there is nothing left,
But another corpse in a graveyard.
