Lost

It was just another school day,

just normal afternoon on a Wednesday,

I had the warning before I enter the house.

The room was so tense with their aroma

that the front door rushed open for air.

They asked me if I'd seen the medicine but I said "I don't know".

I stood near the screen door to put my mind at ease

from the suffocationg haze lingering near me.

They asked if I heard them the first time and I said "I did and I didn't know".

Then again, They asked the same question that I'd misinterpreted from the beginning

and told them it was in the kitchen.

They called me over and I forced my feet

to them slowly making the floor scream.

Their eyes were red as the sunset

leaving me with its goodbyes.

Their voice thundered the walls

that echoed out into the world and beyond

the outer rings of space.

I'm always prepared for these moments that I've encountered

over the years,

but not this time.

My heart freaked out,

my nerves became nervous,

I inhaled but nothing came out,

I couldn't handle it.

Then I thought I'd had gave my eyes a rest

from their intense glare,

but I lost it.

I lost my feet, knees, legs, back, head, eyes, breath.

It felt like drifting in a dream

but their voice brought me back to reality

that I was on the floor.

They put me on the couch and checked my temperature

yelling at me but their eyes became mine.

They was worried that they lost

their daughter from falling straight forward

unconscious towards them.

But they saved me.

If it wasn't for them,

I could've lost it.
