"A Love Letter to Poetry"- By Elizabeth Hop

A jumbled, hurt feeling

A word, a sentence

Hope to bring healing

A heart filled with repentance

You bring me relief

A breath, a sigh

A release from grief

Not having to lie

I feel the words let me forgive

Let go of self hate

A reason to live

A way set my wrong straight

With you I understand why I faced what I did

I am stronger now with you

I’ve grown, I’m no longer a kid

Now that you’ve helped me, I bid you adieu

But I can move forward now and follow my light

Because for the first time in forever, I know it is bright
