Lullaby

Location

Listen to me

I can't make sense anymore

I've been living in my own safe fantasies

Been dreaming on my own safe lullabies

I always run back to the poison

It's not ever enough

I'd rather lie than face the truth

I'd rather die than hear reason

I can dream a dream of a dream

And believe it is reality

I can imagine that you're listening

But still feel the gnawing

Listen to me

I can't make sense anymore

I've been living in my own twisted fantasies

Been dreaming on my own twisted lullabies

I always tremble in your embrace

It's not ever enough

I'd rather create my own nightmares than live yours

I'd rather die than face reason

I can slit my own wrists

And yet I haven't

I can imagine you'll read between the lines

But still feel the gnawing

Oh, listen to me

I can't make sense anymore

I need your overwhelming truth

I need your overwhelming reason

I always cry when I'm angry

It's not ever enough

I'd rather sleep in a casket than live an insomniac

I'd rather die than face the pain

I can run and never turn back

And tell myself that you don't care

I can imagine you'll give me a dose of something stronger

But still never wake up

Please wake me up

The Darcy Perspective

This is me right now. My favorite part of the poem is all of it, and the underlying tone of hope. I hope you guys can see it and understand what us mental health goofs are going through.
