Magnificence

The teenage years are
Hopeless, devastating, and full of angst.
Countless numbers of us
Treat ourselves as if we are
Nothing, useless, and worthless.
We compare ourselves
To unattainable personas:
Models, saints, and
Fictional characters.
Teens are the bane of society.
The ones with no respect,
No merit,
No contributions.

But who’s to say that we are not
Special, individuals, and innovators?
Why do we not regard ourselves as
A cut above the rest, or
The cream of the crop?

I petition and I protest.
I will not be stifled!
The viewpoint that we are nothing is
UNACCEPTABLE.
I AM special.
I AM superb.
I AM more than anyone can ever know.
NO ONE can put me down,
Call me names,
Or crush my spirit.

This notion is to be protected.
By all those who belong to
my People, my generation, my peers.
It is our responsibility to demonstrate
our Rarity, Significance, and Excellence.

Let it be known that the
Teenage generation is the future.
Will be the present.
Represents change, progress, and
MAGNIFICENCE.
