The Make Up

I thought we were done, you and I
Our relationship ended in short years flown by.

I’d look back fondly from time to time
On the friends and the memories that were sublime

But then there were the long nights and headaches galore
That part I could do without I am absolutely sure.

We had our ups and downs throughout the five years
Our time capitalized on by parties and beers.

And here we are about to begin again
A new start to the same journey where I’ve been.

Acclimating to your homework, quizzes, and tests once more
Will be a test in itself to regain our rapport.

College, you and I left on good terms
With a degree and good grades, to my knowledge both affirms.

Let’s try this once more and begin anew
Next year for fall, it’ll be you and I, just us two.
