Make a difference

Location

I was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis at the age of two

So this became the life I knew

Pain that cut through like a knife

Had became a part of daily life

Visiting doctors and taking pills

Helping me to overcome my ills

Receiving infusions on a monthly basis

Helps to remove some of the arthritis traces

I’ve fought JRA my entire life

But I’ve persevered in my fight

Helping others is my plan

So I’ve joined an experimental clan

Hopefully information gained from the tests

Will provide a cure for all the rest

My future looks great

Because I’m not leaving it up to fate

I’ll get a good education while in school

Then I’ll use that as my tool

Winning this scholarship contest

Will help to start me on my quest

Someday when I’m a success and reached my goal,

I’ll give back to others and enrich my soul

Life is a journey with many roads to follow

I’m on the right road for a bright tomorrow

When my journey is finished

And my life on earth is through

I’ll know I’ve made a difference

Because of the help from you.
