My Mama always told me somethin':

"Don't be goin' makin' people's heart rip."

Now that she's gone, left me alone

My heart's cryin' for mercy.

Boom! Boom!

Long ago when I was young,

My Mama always told me somethin':

"Put your heart to the Earth, an' you'll hear one right back."

Now that I'm olda' my three kids love that valley

And I tell 'em the same thing My Mama told me.

That ol' Earth of ours got that steady beat.

Boom! Boom Boom!

When I was two

My Mama was through.

She made me go to to the church to praise Him,

Though I really ain't wanna.

My Mama always told me somethin':

"Boy, I'm 'gon beat the livin' Devil outta' you! Don't you go doin' it again!!"

Haha, an' you bet I never did!

Boom Boom! BOOM BOOM!!

Now I'm forty.

Got my own family; kids too.

My Mama's gone, and there's nothin' I can do.

But I remember one more thing...

My Mama told me something:

"Baby boy, My heart and soul'll never die. You're me! You're my Big Baby Boy!"
