Marooned

Jaden and Margo charted a boat

to go deep-sea diving for a day.

Then the storm came out of nowhere

with insane winds and frequent thunder.

The boat's captain would not make it.

Five hours after the wreck:

Jaden slowly gained consciousness

as Margo tended to their minor injuries.

The boat had washed upon the shore of an island.

Five weeks after the wreck:

They'd pulled the boat inland

a few hundred feet, using a rope.

Any available materials were used

  to make a (temporary) campsite.

Five years after the wreck:

It was just those two. The whole time.

A cargo shipt or two must have lost boxes of goods

that had washed ashore now and then.

They made a life on an empty island

and even accepted it eventually.
