The mask

Location

Dear little boy who sleeps in my doorstep
Every day you see me with a smile when I on walk pass you the street
You call me Miss Happy
You wish my world was yours
Little that you know, I was dying inside
For you

Dear friends
Every day you see me with a smile when I walk pass you in the hall way
You assume:”Ah, you’re having a good day.”
Little that you know, I was thinking about suicide
Fading away

Dear mom
Every day you see me with a smile when you come back from work
Thinking that I’m busy texting my friend on the phone
Little that you know, I was embarrassed of myself
That I’m sucking away your time, your health, and your beauty

Dear myself
Every day you see me practicing smile when you look at your reflection
You know my attempt on tricking the world
Into believing that I am a callous statue
A senseless puppet
Who limit myself from being a dandelion, a wind, a seagull’s wing
A human being

Dear the world
When the sun rises up
And you see me smiling
You know your show is on
And it’s time to start the cast of the best actor
