The Mask I Chose To Lace

Every thought is a battle,
Every breath is a war,
My insanity, that is so fragile
Is not winning anymore.

That day, I crumbled just a little,
As you stared with menacing eyes,
When you were in the middle
Of your sentence, sending me to die.

And I knew where it was going,
I didn’t want to hear your case.
So to stop my tears from flowing,
A smile appeared on my face.

I was drowning,
But nobody saw my fight.
For a mask was all I was allowing
To those who came in sight.

Now I’m on the bathroom floor,
With black stained tears rolling down my face.
No one saw anything more,
Than the mask I chose to lace.
