Masquerade

In the daylight, she puts her makeup on
She walks out into the world with a smile on her face
She wants everybody to believe that she’s okay
She wants the world to think the best

But during the night, she screams and cries
Her world is falling apart behind the mask
Her life is exploding beneath her feet
Her life is nothing like it should be

But she’d never let the world know that
As far as they know, her world is perfect
She paints on a smile, puts on her dress
And she dances at the masquerade ball until the clock strikes twelve
