Masquerade Finale

A Mask,

Displayed upon a smooth, ebony, Hershey surface,

Framed by the luscious, succulent, crimson lips,

Glistening pearly whites,

The Mask,

Revealed for all the World to see,

Concealing truly,

Cherishing truly,

The depths of despair,

A Smile is painted so all seems fair,

Shading the sweltering heat of anger,

A bucket of bitterness’ tears,

Encompassing her fears,

A Mask, withstanding all ridicule,

A Smile of the brightest hue,

To the World I’m Me,

A girl who follows the road that always leads right,

To Myself I’m She,

She who still drags the shackles of her past bondage through the dust,

To the World I’m Me,

I’m free with ballads of melodic beauties fluttering from within my soul,

To Myself I’m She,

She who utters the raspy song of my faintest cries in the onyx night,

She longs for the care of her father’s beating stone, he calls a heart,

She is broken, music being the cement,

She reveres, overcoming the hurdles of the devil’s workers,

Becoming ONE with her Mask,

A Smile of valor and beauty, a blanket of her dark past,

It’s white splendor securing its greatest duty,

Satisfying the audience she displays her newfound triumph,

She dances a final Masquerade,

Modeling the Mask that withstood all the pain of her past,

Parading and bathing in success’ sun,

Being the She of me as her Masquerade is Done
